We’ve been busy

Filed Under (Social Networking, info, testing) by dene on 19-11-2008

Sorry for the total lack of updates over the last month or so, we’ve been very busy trying to sort out a few awesome things for you. We’ll announce what we’ve been working on as soon as we can. Also, we’ve been working on the website; Soon, you’ll be able to see a proper Micro-Site instead of the main Redeemer page. Don’t worry, the main site is still there, you just have to choose to enter it. What we’ll have there is essentially ‘quick access’ information: Whats coming up, our events calendar, a digest of this very Blog, and our Twitter posts.

If you need more, you can click through to the main website to see it all. Nothing’s going away.

We’ll be working on the website itself in the near future. We’ll be adding a tonne of new features, and making the whole thing load a lot faster. The site will also get a slight re-design, nothing too drastic, just a bit of spit and polish to bring things up to speed.

// Breaks, Lock-in, and fun!

This weekend at Redeemer there’s so much to tell you we decided to Blog it

Firstly, it’s the final night to abuse Jack’s generosity by taking advantage of our free entry before midnight offer, so tell your friends, family and anyone else you want to come down for free, just keep it legal with the ages please

Secondly we have our monthly dedicated Metal night Exile with One Fell Down and Mantus playing live in The Pit, hosted & DJ’d by Trendkill with a special DJ set by Dene (S.o.T) so make sure you get down for that one:
Exile

Thirdly we’ve re-jigged Electron to make it Electron Breaks with Jungle, Drum ‘n’ Bass, Breaks & Beats being laid down on you all night by our special guest DJ for the night CK.

Electron
Drinks are still on offer until 1am, so couple that with bands, guest DJ’s and free entry you get a great weekend at stupidly cheap prices…

Fourthly, we’re pleased to announce the start of The Lock In, an after club bar held until 6am after Redeemer has finished and located in the Rack ‘n’ Roll itself. Entry to this is free from Redeemer so you can kick back and chill out after the usual Redeemer madness.

However, it’s also free entry to anyone after 4am (when Redeemer shuts), so even if you work in another club or you’ve been out and about elsewhere in town that night (not that you’d want to go anywhere else now would you? ) you can come and chill out with some drinks and music until the wee small hours…

Such plans we have for you…

Well well!
Time for another update, and here’s what we have this week:
Exile (+ Entry discount), Electr0n (+ news), and photos from last week’s Redeemer (the 16th, when some of you were at BloodStock).

OK, let’s get on with the update.
First off, what’s coming up:

Exile [MySpace Page]
Features Drag the lake, and Internal Conflict

We’re going to give all you BloodStock-goers a bit of a discount this Saturday.
If you’ve still got your BloodStock wristband, you can get in for £3 from 11pm, all night.
Don’t worry if you’ve taken it off, just bring it along, show it at the front desk, and you’ll get the discount.

Electr0n
Features the usual Industrial and beats, but, after this week, it’ll be changing.
Yep, changing.

Electr0n evolves!
From next month’s Electr0n (that’s the 27th of September), Electr0n will become Electr0n Breaks and we’ll be getting a couple more DJs in, and playing a tone of Drum & Bass, DarkStep, and Industrial Drum & Bass (see, keeping some of the Industrial). We’ll also be throwing in a little Digital Hardcore, and a few other beaty-treats.

It’ll be a friendly night, no attitude kinda thing, and we’ll be playing something along the lines of:
Technical Itch, Black Sun Empire, Limewax, Current Value, Spor, Couterstrike, Evol Intent, Diesel Boy, DJ Hidden, Edgey, Raiden, Panacea, Donny, Dillinja, Pendulum, Konflict, Skynet, Enduser, Atari Teenage Riot, Godflesh, Front Line Assembly, Resonant Evil, Bad Robot, and much more.

We’re aiming for a friendly, alternative event. We know you all like Pendulum (even if you refuse to admit it, we’ve seen you all dancing to it weekly ;) ), and we’ve been listening to people’s requests for a friendly Drum & Bass night for some time now.

We listen, we provide :)

Photos from last week’s Redeemer
Can be found, as ever, on the Website, Flickr page, MySpace page, of FaceBook group.
You could, however, just click the image below to see the slideshow.

Next week at Redeemer
As it’s a 5-week month, we have two great events for you:

Hades Gates [MySpace page]
Featuring Exile and RageBreed DJs, and live performances from Warpath, and The Cosmic Vortex of Doom, plus one more band yet to be confirmed (a web flyer will be up when the third band is confirmed)

Nowhere
Our genre-free night of random music, request heavy, and a great time. I’ll be covering this one for the regular Nowhere DJ (DarkstrEam) as he’s on holiday. I highly suggest you check it out.

Blog upgrade
We’ve been working on the look of the blog today, and we’re quite happy with it so far. We still have a few technical issues to work out, but this is pretty much how it’ll look from now on.

We even got a Twitter account for Redeemer, so we can share stuff with you, and, it’ll automatically post a summary of those ‘Tweets’ daily, as a blog entry. If you use twitter, feel free to either add Redeemer here or just pop back here from time-to-time to see the updates.

We’ve been looking into a few other social tools, too, but more on that when the time is right.

Upcoming special events
Are in planning right now, and you can fully expect something for Hallowe’en and New Years Eve, not to mention a tonne of stuff in-between.

Anyway, that’ll do for now, so please, let us know what you think of the new blog layout and design, and if it does, or does not work for you.
